BACKEND
ENGINEER

Engineering low-latency backend infrastructure and data-intensive applications. Currently focused on memory-safe systems programming in Rust.

About

About &
Philosophy

I am a Computer Science student focused strictly on backend engineering, systems architecture, and low-latency computation. Rather than treating high-level abstractions as black boxes, my drive is to understand, deconstruct, and build the infrastructure underneath.

Currently, my technical focus is entirely on systems programming in Rust — specifically architecting a Raft-powered Distributed LSM-Tree Storage Engine.

Mechanical Sympathy

Writing cache-conscious data structures that minimize pointer-chasing and maximize CPU cache-line efficiency.

Memory Safety

Leveraging Rust's ownership model to eliminate data races and guarantee memory safety without garbage collection pauses.

Distributed Consensus

Implementing replicated state machines through Raft: leader elections, log replication, and safe cluster reconfiguration.

Async Concurrency

Architecting non-blocking pipelines using Tokio, lock-free channels, and cooperative task scheduling.

Selected Work

Forage

A networked simulation where thousands of players manage their own nests on a shared grid, pushing the engine to simulate millions of ants simultaneously. Moving from a basic algorithm to a distributed MMO-style simulator means standard programming patterns break down entirely. Here is how I architected the core engine, the multi-threaded server, and the WASM client to handle the swarm.

tty-mate

A minimal, terminal-based chess game written in Rust. tty-mate lets you play local two-player chess directly in your terminal. It uses a clean interface built with ratatui and focuses on just playing the game without distractions.

Fetis

An asynchronous, in-memory key-value store engineered in Rust. Leverages the Tokio runtime for non-blocking I/O to handle high-throughput concurrent TCP connections. Implements a core subset of the Redis protocol (SET, GET, DEL, PING).
